The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved the sweeping casino and land deal between the Oneida Indian Nation and the state of New York. By a weighted vote of 847 to 653, the board joined Oneida County in ratifying the agreement on land and tax issues. The Oneida County Board of Legislators approved the agreement Tuesday.
Chairman John Becker, fighting back tears, told his colleagues he doesn't like the agreement but felt he had no choice but to vote yes. Full agreement is here
