Announcing FY25 and FY26 Funding Opportunities from the Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP)
The Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs is pleased to announce Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) below:
OJJDP FY26 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court
This opportunity will support states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Tribal governments to implement new or enhance existing juvenile drug treatment courts (JDTCs) to improve outcomes for youth with substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
This NOFO provides two categories of funding: • Category 1: Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Planning and Implementation Program. Category 1 supports states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Tribal governments to implement new JDTCs. • Category 2: Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Enhancement Program. Category 2 supports states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Tribal governments to enhance existing JDTCs.

BJA FY26 Adult Treatment Court Program
This opportunity supports the implementation and enhancement of Adult Treatment Court (ATC) operations to prevent overdoses and reduce the use of opioids, stimulants, and other substances by high-risk/high-need adults in the criminal justice system. Adult Treatment Courts (ATCs) combine judicial supervision, substance use disorder treatment, mandatory and random drug testing, case management, sanctions and incentives, and recovery support services to improve participant outcomes and public safety. This NOFO provides three categories of funding: • Category 1: Planning and Implementation: six-month planning phase followed by launch of a new ATC • Category 2: Enhancement: projects to support or expand services provided by a fully operational ATC.
• Category 3: Statewide: funds enabling state applicants to implement one-time projects that sustainably improve, enhance, or expand statewide ATC services.

BJA FY26 Veterans Treatment Court Program
This opportunity supports the implementation and enhancement of veterans’ treatment court (VTC) operations to reduce the use of opioids, stimulants, and other substances, including alcohol, by high-risk/high-need veterans in the criminal justice system. VTCs effectively integrate substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health disorder (MHD) treatment, mandatory drug testing, incentives and sanctions, and transitional services in judicially supervised court settings that have jurisdiction over veterans in the criminal justice system who have SUD and/or co-occurring mental health disorders (MHSUD), including those with a history of violence and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI).
This NOFO provides three categories of funding: • Category 1: Planning and Implementation – Six-month planning phase followed by launch of a new VTC. • Category 2: Enhancement – Supports projects to strengthen or expand services provided by a fully operational VTC. • Category 3: Statewide – Funds one-time projects that sustainably improve, enhance, or expand statewide VTC services.

BJA FY26 Second Chance Act Community based Reentry Program
This opportunity will support community-based organizations and tribal governments to provide mentoring and transitional services for people returning to communities from adult correctional facilities and who are assessed as moderate to high risk for recidivism. Services may be provided pre and/or post-release. The Second Chance Act of 2007 and the First Step Act of 2018 authorize federal grants to facilitate reentry services and programs for people leaving incarceration. In FY 2026, BJA is releasing six NOFOs to support adults reentering the community and enhance public safety in different ways. Applicants are welcome to seek funding through more than one NOFO.

BJAFY26 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program—Local Formula
This opportunity will provide formula funding to eligible units of local government to, in general, support hiring additional personnel and/or purchase equipment, supplies, contractual support, training, technical assistance, and information systems for criminal justice or civil proceedings, including for any one or more of the eleven program areas. Applicants should check the FY26 JAG allocations to determine if they are eligible to receive direct JAG funding from BJA prior to starting an application: https://bja.ojp.gov/program/jag/allocations.

OVC FY26 Enhanced Collaborative Model (ECM) Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking
This opportunity supports jurisdictions in developing and expanding a multidisciplinary, collaborative task force approach to better respond to human trafficking through increased victim identification, service provision, and case investigations.

OVC FY26 Improving Outcomes for Child and Youth Victims of Human Trafficking
The purpose of this program is to improve outcomes for children and youth who are victims of human trafficking by integrating human trafficking policy and programming at the state or Tribal level and enhancing coordinated, multidisciplinary, and statewide approaches to all forms of trafficking as defined by 22 U.S.C. § 7102(11).

BJA FY26 Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Program
This opportunity supports states and units of local government, including tribal governments that perform law enforcement functions, in creating and expanding efforts to protect the safety and security of federal judges by preventing the release of covered information about at-risk individuals and their immediate family members to ensure federal judges are able to administer justice fairly without fear of personal reprisal from individuals affected by the decisions they make in the course of carrying out their public duties.
