National Convening of Tribal-State Court Forums

On June 2-3, 2016 the Tribal Law and Policy Institute hosted a National Convening of Tribal-State Court Forums in downtown Los Angeles, in collaboration with Casey Family Programs, the National American Indian Court Judges Association and the California Tribal-State Court Forum.  There were 13 states and 18 tribal courts represented at the meeting and over 45 participants, primarily tribal and state court judges, as well as forum staff. The meeting was very interactive and focused on the successes of forums, as well as challenges. Look for a final report to be posted on www.WalkingOnCommonGround.org in the coming months.
